The entire approach of kicking in peoples doors and raiding their home is wrong. Its preemptively hostile. What are frightened people supposed to do when unknown persons are busting through their doors like crazed maniacs?
Perhaps a better approach would be to surround the house in defensive positions, cover all exits, and send a couple officers up to knock a few times and if no one answers announce clearly through a bullhorn that theyre there and why theyre there, and demand peaceful cooperation.
There has to be a better solution than blitzing people in their home, the homes they have every right to defend, and scaring them into doing something stupid, then shooting them dead because the cops lack any proper training or education to do anything but write tickets and pull triggers.
Gotta agree with this. Yet another consequence of the slow militarization of police in the US. They dont want to do actual police work they want to play soldier. ---
