They're benign and genetic. Basically, if I get an ingrown hair an excess amount of keratin (or something, I forget the details) makes it worse and it becomes a cyst. The one on my scrotum was becoming too uncomfortable so I dealt with it. Not the first time. Not even the first one down there. I don't have insurance and even if I did it still wouldn't be free. I know how to do it and be careful so why not? They probably only would have given me a topic anesthetic if I went in to a clinic anyway. When I get them they're usually not a big deal.
