Having studies languages extensively myself, the answer is "it depends". English is extremely hard for people to learn if they come from a different language entirely (like Arabic, Russian or Chinese). If you speak a germanic language, German for instance learning English is actually really easy. The grammar is quite simple compared to German, however the hard part with English is the vocabulary. Most people don't understand how ridiculously vast an English dictionary is, by far the biggest vocabulary of any language. Going to English coming from Latin languages is also not too difficult. Germanic and Latin languages just happen to have a lot in common with English, grammatically and vocabulary wise. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
