I haven't started grinding for Cores yet but I can tell the grind will be arduous. I'm also confused about the OP comment that you need certain Blades to beat bosses. There were a couple of field checks in the story where you needed certain Blade types, but not bosses. --- I am the Cheese! I am the best character on the show!
