So much this. Store I work at has those "next register" sign with arrows when the register is closed.. You'd be surprised how many times people go to those registers.. What's even worse is when they start unloading their cart there, when there isn't even a cashier behind the counter.

its funnier when those same people complain about "wasting their time" and needing to be somewhere so now whoever is ringing them up has to hurry up....Maybe if you read the sign you would have gone to an open register quicker.

Haha really. And it's always the ones who are in a hurry who don't prepare their credit card or cash, and take forever to find their rewards card.

Those people always annoy me. The types that look genuinely surprised that the cashier actually wants money for the groceries. Then you have some old woman digging around a garbage bag sized purse looking for change, finds some, but keeps digging because "Oh bother, I don't want to break a quarter."
