Wrong. Killing someone accidentally may not be manslaughter. If the jurors feel that it was not the result of gross negligence (in this case the defense argued he picked up a gun from a bag on the ground and it discharged as he was handling the bag and unaware it was a gun) then that is not manslaughter. So no, accidental killing is not the full definition of manslaughter. There's a threshold of recklessness needed. The jury felt that threshold wasn't crossed.
