It just feels more stripped down and to the point than the later stuff with Wilco, and it shifts really well between the more rocking moments and the delicate stuff. 7/10 Feels a little cheesy in comparison to Uncle Tupelo for me, the more uptempo rock based material is a bit of a miss for me as well, but this still has a lot of memorable moments.
