It certainly feels like it would, to a degree anyway. It doesn't matter though, you say that as if its something one can just go out and get. I think it's clear we don't have much of a choice in the matter.

All I can say is for me personally, having sex didn't really change anything about how I feel about myself.

Do you think it would have affected you if you'd never had it though? I don't know how old you are, but it's clear you've had intimacy. You don't think a life without that would be worse than one with it?

It's never done anything for me unless it's been with someone I care about, and even then it's only helped so much and it doesn't really last either.

So, it did affect how you felt, even if it was just temporary. You've had people you cared about, who showed you intimacy, and affected how you felt. Yet, I'm in the wrong for wanting to experience this for myself?

Also I've learned the hard way that it's not really healthy for relationships to put the burden of fixing you on someone else. Ultimately you just have to work on yourself to feel better about yourself and be happy and then from there you can find people who compliment you, as in go well with you, but expecting someone else to make you feel better about yourself isn't really a good idea.

I don't expect to be fixed. I want to be accepted, understood, and cared about as I am. Yeah, I get that would seem to be part of "being fixed" but It's not like I expect this to be a miracle or anything. I just want a partner in life who cares about me, and will help nudge me towards a happier life.

It's clear no one thinks I'm capable of that, even myself, so I don't even bother any more. I deleted my other posts because I didn't want to derail the topic to be about myself, but I felt your post was worth responding to.
