After the idiocy Nintendo pulled with AM2R and then releasing the M:SR with pay locked content (amiibo unlocked items), there's no way in hell I'd vote for it. That being said, they do still know how to make good games, and while I haven't played it yet, I do find BOTW to be rather derivative of the modern open world genre as a whole and has numerous flaws, of all the other games on the list for GOTY 2017, it STILL looked to be the best.

Although, even if I had played both games and thought that M:SR was the better game, I would still have voted for BOTW due to the reasons I mentioned above. While only one of those actually affects gameplay, that alone is bad enough. You aren't getting the full game for the price you pay. It's not even DLC. It's right on the cart and as such, is functionally NO different from "on disk DLC". Oh, wait, I take that back. If you lose the Amiibo, you can't get those items in future runs, unlike with ODDLC, so it's actually WORSE.

And with the price you'd have to pay for each one of those items? It's just not worth it.

$40 for game
$10 per Amiibo (price may be higher)

$60 total (two amiibos)

$60+ for the complete game on a console where $40 is the norm for a complete game. F*** you Nintendo. F*** you.
