That video is so cringe. I hope to go to Japan some day, even for a simple vacation to sight see. I understand that as a foreigner, it is important to always be respectful in their culture. He is treating the country like it is America and that's just so .... awful. The idiot clearly didn't even take the time to learn a lick of Japanese, having that tour guide there and not talking Japanese to any of the people in the videos trying to explain himself or ask questions.

What a fucking boob.

Worst part is, people will judge you when you go because of people like him.

I hope not. I deal with Japanese foreigners almost every day at work and I just hope that this has given me some insight on what to do to keep myself less stigmatized.

I actually had a Japanese woman today. I talked with her for a good 10-15 minutes and she told me she would run the NYC and Boston Marathons and that she cleared the finish line like an hour before the 2013 bombs went off.

The interesting thing is, I already have demeanor when talking to Asians. Like, I never really noticed it until I took the class for Japanese, but I really do bow when I thank someone completely unnoticed. The IRL me is just overly polite and my Japanese instructor is strictly teaching us the language based on formal and polite conjugation and word usage.

I think come that day I get to go, I think things will be fine. I hold doors open for people. Again, I bow. I always apologize when needed and show appreciation when I must.

I just need to prove myself and if the people I am in public with notice my actions, I think I'd do well to be honest.
