I get theyve been oppressed and enslaved for thousands of years, but has there ever been a historical period akin to an African Golden Age like various other parts of the world have gone through? Like even nations like India, Pakistan, middle eastern countries etc... that have been colonized for centuries seems to have made much more strides in progress than African nations. Heck, even European people who had been enslaved (ancient Greeks and Vikings enslaved many European cultures for generations) managed to break through and make strides, but for some reason Africa has never been able to break through their impoverished cycle. Is there a reason why that is specifically to the region of Africa?
