At some intersections where there are multiple lanes but no dedicated right turn lane, you learn to move into the next lane over before reaching the intersection in order to not hinder those that are turning right.

I get what he's saying but I couldn't really do that given the traffic.
BS. You decided to movie into that lane because the straight ahead lane was moving slower due to traffic. So you went in the right lane to pass a bunch of people, then the light turned red, and you backed up tons of cars for no reason because you still ended up waiting at the same light that you would have otherwise if you had just been a considerate driver.
HI. Sorry I was in your way, but if you were in such a hurry you should've cut through the Albertson's parking lot when you saw the light turn red. Maybe then you and your Dodge Challenger wouldn't have been late. :)
Cutting through parking lots is illegal.
