Lucas is shit. he didn't even have as much to do with the creation of star wars as people think. he didn't even direct 2 of the 3 OT movies. everything good in the OT was the idea of someone working with him. and tons of his bullshit ideas got rejected. if Lucas had as much control in the OT as he did in the PT, they would have bombed

The new movies are objectively better than the PT. Motherfucking nerds care about "muh canon" than quality. Even if you think the new movies mess up the canon and/or suck, they are still better. When the main character of your trilogy is infamously terrible at acting and even accomplished actors spoke classically terrible lines and Jar Jar, there is only so much upside. The movies don't even look very good. They haven't aged as well as something from the same time like Lord of the Rings or even the original trilogy to be honest. At least the OT has the excuse of being really old in comparison.
