Recently watched Ninja Scroll, Megami Tensei, Angel's Egg, Cat Soup. I haven't been impressed with anime in a long time. These anime have breathed artistic expression back into my mind. These are the types of movies someone would have seen sitting on shelves of movie rental places. I remember those places fondly, it was a magical, grassroots type feel. The one I used to go to the most was very hippy style and near some universities in the forest areas of the west coast of America. There was always some kind of herbal fragrance in the air.
