Well yes, of course, I completely agree that Calvin and Hobbes has exceptional strips. But most of the time I (re)read it not expecting that side-busting laugh, but for a more mild chuckle. I guess I see it as more of a story book with extra humor added than a straight up comic that goes purely for silliness and laughs.

But one thing that I like about Pearls is how much it triggers people. In the treasuries the author is always saying how many angry letters he gets from people complaining about his strips, and there are so many stupid reasons lol.

Lol oh man, he should publish those, I love when people make their hate mail public. Richard Dawkins used to do that a lot and it was glorious.
