This is difficult to answer. Money isn't free and has become important due to economic standards. Farms do not make much money and corporations use their resources to market the food. In most democratic nations, the government offers assistance with basic needs like food for those that can't afford it. If money became more widely spread, the value of it will change due to supply and demand. This causes inflation, with more expensive prices on products.

TLDR: Money costs money
