When I worked as a cook at a moderately large restaurant chain the store didn't open until 6 a.m but we were expected to be there and work off the clock by 5:30 a.m (literally system was locked until 6 a.m). If we didn't do this not only would no one have a job and none of the customers would be pissed we didn't have their morning gruel ready immediately. I'm guessing someone will come in and defend this of course as they wank off their corporate overlords with their free hand. Literally no one in this topic has defended employees being forced to work off the clock.
