I currently work at a place that allows customers to come in and place orders up until the last second of our stated closing hours. So long as I am doing that with a positive attitude, I will always expect everyone in similar situations to the same.
Personally, I don't see how anyone can feel good about themselves telling customers to leave like that. I wouldn't be able to sleep well with myself. I'd kick myself for it.
Fuck that restaurant.
That's like 80% of restaurants. And the 20% that regularly turn customers away near closing wind up failing because it is a symptom of likely several different critical issues (lack of management holding employees accountable, management oversight of long-term goals, etc)
