The reality is that customers will always expect to be able to walk into a store and shop as long as it's still before their stated closing time. As a business, you must cater to that perception. Anytime a customer shows up at a business before closing time and is turned away, it's a massive negative experience that often times leads to that customer never shopping their during ANY hours ever again.

Entitled retail workers give no shits about customer retention, all they care about is getting the fuck out. As you can see demonstrated in this thread, they get triggered quite easily at just the thought of staying over and throw out every excuse in the book to justify such behavior. "My company won't pay me, my company will fire me, people shouldn't be shopping while the store is open."

It's all good though, in the future machines won't judge people for doing some last minute shopping.
