A well insulated house can go periods of 8+ hours without having the furnace cut in.


I guess.. but that just depends how cold you want to be/how much clothing you want to be wearing.

If you live where the weather is below 20 degrees, you're home probably won't drop below 50 degrees. But I certainly don't want to be walking around a house fully clothed with a jacket on.

Right now I'm wearing a short sleeved shirt, pajama pants and socks. If my heater wasn't on I'd have to be wearing all sorts of clothing.
