I don't think we should compare how a trained cop SHOULD act to how the average joe WOULD act. People keep saying "they were told it was a hostage situation!"...then if they were so scared to the point that they'd shoot as soon as the door opened why did they approach it in that way? If you have concerns like that then maybe you should think of another way about it instead of just walking up to the door and waiting for what you believe to be an armed gunman to open it?
