I dont understand why having to replace a battery after two years is such a betrayal lmao, especially at thirty bux. definitely wouldnt pay the original $80, but for $30? sure, whatever, batteries die. nothing new there.

Everyone knows batteries degrade. The issue here is that Apple intentionally throttled CPU performance, hid it, and only admitted it because they got caught with pie on their face.

yeah, I suppose thats fairly embarrassing, but is buying a new battery the only way to speed them back up? or are they planning on actually giving you the option in the future?

You can buy a new battery (Apple gets $$) or you can buy a new phone (Apple gets $$$$). Either way, Apple takes your money.

I'm not even convinced that getting a new battery resets the clock because I've tried that already.

I got a new battery for my 6S+ for free replaced under Apple Care+ (person I bought the phone off of had bought it for 2 years), and the battery life significantly improved compared to what it was, but it still doesn't feel as strong as it would be on a new device. I always just chalked it up to 11 being designed for a better processor.
