You've totally got the carriage before the horse, there. If the media played nice and actually reported the news, Trump wouldn't have to make them his enemy. Delegitimising them? They did that on their own by working with the Democrats to attack Trump. The most egregious case was CNN giving Hillary Clinton the questions before one of the debates to let her prepare.
