Hello, you asked for headphone buying advice on GameFAQs, or somebody asked me for you before I saw your query. I am the headphones man and Ive got a headphones plan, yessir. To make this easier on all of us, if you could fill out this short form, Ill be happy to assist you.

Are you looking for full-size headphones or IEMs (commonly mistakenly referred to as earburds)?

For full-size headphones, are you looking for circumaural (over-ear) or supra-aural (on-ear)?

For full-size headphones, are you looking for closed-back (better bass response, limited to no sound leakage, hearing obstructed) or open-back (more accurate, better mids and highs, worse bass response, better instrument separation, leaks sound)? Open-back headphones will leak sound quite a bit, meaning people around you will be able to hear it.

What are your favorite genres?

What is your projected use case? Is portability a concern? If they are IEMs, do they need to be workout-safe? Will these headphones take a beating from your everyday use?

Do you have an older pair of headphones or IEMs that you really enjoy and would like something similar to them and if so, what are they?

Do they need to be wireless? If not, would you prefer wireless?

Do you need a microphone? If so, do you need it attached to the headphones? If so, are in-line mics a problem?

Whats your price range?
