Today's poll features a question based around 'the holidays'.
Why can't they just come out and call it Christmas?
Countries and cultures that don't celebrate Christmas don't have any holidays this time of year, so if they're afraid of offending anyone, what about the poor working joe with no holiday? Even their personal message collecting power moons or whatever avoids using the word. What is the alternate name for the 25th December for them? Holi-Day? (Which comes from holy day)
It just makes me smile how catered the site is towards America. The systems and games have American names first, the competitions are run only in America, and yet they can't call the holiday by it's name in America. Seriously what does this site call easter? Chocolate Egg day?
I'd say the same thing if this website was in China and celebrated a generic name for Chinese New Year.
I guess it's to avoid all the negative stigma surrounded by the name Christmas, because if they use it they must be Jesus freaks eh?
