Topic	Why do so many people care that Kevin Durant left for Golden State?

It's that he chose to take the easiest path possible to that championship by going to a team that was already championship-caliber and riding Curry's coattails to a ring. If Durant had gone anywhere else besides Golden State and Cleveland, he would still have way more respect from the fans than he does now, and might have that championship already as well. San Antonio, Houston, Boston, Toronto... there were plenty of teams that Durant could have gone to and made them a serious threat to the Warriors vs. LeBron finals matchup.
