thanks for the spotify link, the YT video didn't work for me. this started off sounding like spastic ink but more out there and with vocals, then there was an excellent solo section, and then there was a minute or so of grunting that was kinda bad. uneven song, but i adored the solo section so much that i'd still call it a great song overall. like bubblemath i'd call this a "jazz fusion with vocals" band. but unlike bubblemath i'd never heard of these guys before, so i'm glad you introduced me to them!

props for doing a song by a jazz singer (jazz is sorely underrepresented in this topic series imho) and i actually quite like "christmas music" (meaning what people usually call christmas music, not the song mycro did) but this wasn't one of my favorites in the "genre." i found the drumming too plodding for the most part, and with connick jr. AND the choir AND a huge orchestra this ended up sounding kind of... bloated, i guess? still enjoyable, though.
