The problem isn't that he dies, it's that he dies in a nonsensical way, to someone who's proven repeatedly to be incompetent. And the movies wastes your time on Finn and Rose's pointless misadventure instead of explaining who Snoke is or why you should care about him other than that he's powerful. Also, while I like Kylo Ren as a character, having him as the main antagonist, seems extremely underwhelming, as I said earlier, he's proven repeatedly to be incompetent, and is equal to Rey at best if not weaker. The main antagonist who has been training in the ways of the force since he was a kid is weaker than the protagonist, who has had basically no training. Where is the tension supposed to come from? Even if Kylo has an army the movie never portrays him as anything except incompetent, so he doesn't feel threatening at all. He in fact shows in this movie how he's still extremely incompetent and non threatening even with an army as he's thoroughly bamboozled by Luke's hallucination or projection or whatever it was even though he himself is an attuned force user. --- The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him.
