I would argue that the religion itself is bigoted against gays, based on its description of homosexual activity as a sin.
Jesus also says that to even look at another person in lust is a sin, so stating that thinking about gays sex at all is a sin is a GIVEN, considering that all lust is a sin.

Since that rule says that looking lustfully at others in either a hetero or homo way is equally sinful, it isn't targeted at people based on their sexuality and thus is in no way bigoted toward hetero people.
