I'm really curious about when he think America was this "bastion" of morality, or when our soul was clean? He speaks as if our soul is now corrupted. Was it before or after slavery / segregation? Or us giving syphilis to the Guatemalans? Or *insert atrocity / corrupt act we've done*.

I'm not saying that America is a bad place to live, but I roll my eyes at people trying to input their religion into the morality of our country, when our country from it's beginning had institutions / laws that should repulse Christians. I'd rather hear him bash us for being anti-constitution than anti-christian.

He has gone on record saying that America was at it's best during slavery.

And yes, he specifically mentioned slavery.

You're taking his comments out of context. He may have referenced that dark period, but he was not trying to imply that he supported the practice. He simply indicated that some things were better about that time. That was just a poor choice of words.

But he didn't say "Some things were better", he said that the 1850s were "the last time America was great". So it wasn't great at ANY point after that, correct? (According to Moore)
