Jesus points out in his teachings many principles of the old covenant that are still valid. The laws themselves were transcended by his sacrifice. But many of the principles; adultry, murder, thievery and the golden rule as a guideline for people to live by Jesus' teachings.

Including the Rape Compensation commandment. They were still following that commandment when Jesus was kickin' it.
