Topic | Why is Putin so popular in Russia? |
electricbugs2 12/08/17 2:44:25 PM #8: | Jokes aside, from Wikipedia: "During Vladimir Putin's first presidency, the Russian economy grew for eight straight years, and GDP measured in purchasing power increased by 72%." As a Canadian, our media has a far less biased position on Putin. It's easy to see why people like him. After the fuckery that was Yeltsin in the 90's, a guy who portrays an image of toughness (He's basically a semi pro hockey player, he hunts bears, he drives racecars etc.) is probably welcomed by a lot of Russians. Not everyone likes him (My friend Nika left Moscow because of him) but between the economy and the way he presents himself, it should be obvious. --- Is sticking your tongue on a 9-volt battery a masculine gesture?-Questionmarktarius ...
