Looking at breeders

Breeder pets usually have a TON of problems.

Unethical breeders looking for a buck you mean.

Ethical breeders conduct health and temperament tests and have at least a 2 year health guarantee.

Nothing ethical about buying them from a breeder when there are so many amazing dogs that need homes already. Also lol at paying 2000 for a dog.

I paid 200 for mine. Had him for 14 years, he was amazing.

Most ethical breeders don't make a profit. They're dedicated to the breed and try to improve it and retain the the right to reclaim the dog if the owner can no longer care for it so that it won't end up in shelters.

Yes there are plenty of dogs that need homes, but ethical breeders are not the problem, backyard breeders breeding dogs with no regard for health and temperament and puppy mills are the problem.

Well considering that breeds like German Shepherds used, to be 50-60 pounds and they were bred to be 80-90 pounds and few breeds have more problems than them.

Not to mention Bulldogs, and Pugs and all the issues they have.

That's what happens when you stop breeding for function and just concentrate on the aesthetic part for dog shows. Old World working German Shepards are closer to 50-60 lbs and don't have the exaggerated over angulated hind quarters. I've seen bulldogs and pugs that were fit and could actually run without passing out after 20 yards, and you could see a waist. People tend to overfeed them to the point where they're shaped like barrels.
