I don't understand the "not feeling like AC" thing just because the gameplay is changed. Metal Gear Solid had vastly different mechanics for each game but they were still all MGS. Probably because AC had pretty similar mechanics throughout its entire history and has only appeared on two console generations whereas MGS is now spanning 4.
