Like I'm hearing you HAVE to do side quests in order to level up and do the main storyline missions, which is something I can't agree with for the series.

So how often have you just mainlined the story and not done any side stuff?

It's not like you need to do all of the side stuff, it's just you need to do stuff on the way to your main mission.

In AC2? First time through I barely did any side stuff because I found the main story so intriguing.

Of course by ACR I was faffing about hard. But like when I read that you can't stealth kill certain enemies if your too far below their level and you don't do a set amount of damage, I feel like it's not an AC game anymore.
