Shaming is a tool to shape the world. A lot of the time, the user uses it in a way that they believe it benefits the world.

They don't want person A to behave a certain way so they shame them so that person A and other people like person A don't approve and in turn the net amount of people like person A (usually) decreases.

The argument should be why it's good/neutral for the world that people like person A exist, not that shaming is wrong.
