Most people don't hate cable.

I'm sure you love it.

Are you high? The customer service of cable companies has been the punchline to jokes for years and people are dropping cable at an event faster rate than analysts predicted. Demographics for shows are getting higher and higher because it's increasingly older people who still have it. Almost nobody I knows has it anymore and most of the ones that still do just have it for the sake it of or just have it for their young kids.
People have hated the way channel packages work since the beginning of time, people have constantly wanted the right to just pay for what they want and fuck the rest but cable companies have the middle finger on that. Plus you're paying a pretty high amount of money for something that's nearly 1/3rd ads.
More and more people are dropping cable every day in favor of just getting Netflix and Hulu for a fraction of the price, with no ads, watching whenever you want, stopping whenever you want without needing a DVR, being able to watch on multiple devices, etc. etc. etc.
And again all of that aside, cable companies have shit reputations for customer support and care.

If you want the internet to become that then you're just crazy.
