Topic	Is Smash Bros. a fighting game?

I mean when 3D fighting games first showed up, they where different than what was the standard. side note though, I've often wondered if sumo wrestling had any influence on the main objective of the game since both knocking your opponent out of the ring is the goal rather than "KO"ing them --- Cid- "looks like that overgrown lobster just got served!"
