I got 3/4 of the way through FC before giving up. I really like it but the combat was lacking and seemed like fluff

the only exciting battles are tbh the bosses.

regular encounter are too easy to pay mind to. bosses are pretty interesting, especially in higher difficulty that you have to maximize your orbments and equipment into the characters, think positioning and alot of micromanagement.

the combat system shine when the enemies are difficult and my favorite is
the imaginary optional boss fithing cassius bright and loewe together in 3rd chapter.

but the gripe pretty much exist and apply for most JRPG because the random encounters are really just exp/money grinding machines.
