It has all the makings of one, but it's just being carried out in such a subtle way that it doesn't fit for a company that relentlessly beats its audience over the head with every single aspect of their programming. They sent 2 guys off a continent.... Where is the subtlety here? You can't make it any clearer you "punished" someone severely. Where was the WWE.com article? Where is the video of Shane talking about sending them home for misconduct? The WWE style of work is to make absolutely sure that their entire fanbase is fully aware of everything that's happening in the story. If they were working here, they'd be producing content going out of its way to paint Zayn and Owens as crazy, selfish, unprofessional loose cannons that had to be sent away because their behavior was becoming too dangerous to the brand and the company.
