Dude, if you went through life without any consequences to your actions, eventually you start to forget what you can and can't get away with. He had always been respectful up until that point, where he had power over people he never had before. It's understandable that he'd let that power trick him into thinking he could do something that he should have known was wrong.

Or maybe I'm just giving him the benefit of the doubt here and he's actually just a scumbag. I don't actually know for sure, because I don't know him personally nor do I even care. I'm not even a fan of the guy, I just feel sorry for him that people can't see things from other perspectives.
