If Islamic groups are stupid enough not to understand the connotations of jihad, they deserve to be ridiculed.

But this is really you, and others, not realizing what one of the definitions of it are...

It doesnt matter what the technical definition is. Everyone in their target audience associates jihad with murder infidels, and its completely tone deaf to pretend thats not the first thing everyone will think. If the goal of these ads is to promote tolerance among Westerners, theyre a failure.

The actual definition doesn't matter, only mine does.
Coming from the person that tells people they are foolish for thinking with their emotions.

LOL, coming from you.

I'm pretty sure if some white-owned car dealership in Alabama created a billboard that said "We lynch the competition," you and other "socially conscious liberals" here wouldn't be so quick to make apologies because it was technically fine under the dictionary definition. Why you're so quick to make excuses when it comes to Islam is bizarre.

You're right, I would call foul.
If a Muslim-owned car dealership had a sign that say "Waging Jihad on the competition", I would call foul.

why? if they're only using jihad as a way of promoting tasteful competition by having better deals and sales, what's the big deal?

Context.
