Trying to say Adele can't sing is just as absurd as trying to say Whitney Houston can't sing. If you're just taking about the quality of their music both have made garbage.

Saying they've both made garbage =/= saying they're both garbage. They're both great and amazingly talented but neither have a flawless release record, especially Whitney.
Pretty much all of my favorite artists and bands have or will release garbage at some point. Very, very, very few artists are consistent for an entire career unless they retired early or died before they had a chance to release anything bad.

That's a fair statement I guess since it's entirely subjective wether you like it or not but it's objectively good on a technical level.
