If I remember correctly SF had a beast D-Line with Justin and Aldon Smith that year which is pretty much Patriot kryptonite Anyway, I said at the time that choosing Kaep over Smith was a huge mistake. The 49ers were great as a Run and Defense team with a low turnover, efficient QB. But Kaep wanted to be the focal point and the defense and running game suffered from it.
