There is a ton of repetition in these songs, usually focusing on a simple drum or riff, but the lyrics are incredibly repetitive too but not in the usual way that suggests laziness or a desire to create a catchy hook, but in a way thats more purpose-driven, as if theyre trying to create a chant that people can rally behind I dont like it. It all feeds into this sense of the music feeling directionless, as if theyre just marching around in a circle and repeating themselves until theyre finally heard. Im truly not sure if this is meant to be protest music in a literal sense, but it does a great job of creating the imagery within its composition. As for the music itself I cant stand it. Not nearly enough going on with the instruments to pique my interest on a production level and the rhythms themselves feel very plodding. The vocals arent something I can get behind either. Its almost like a disinterested yelling. Yeah, its slightly paradoxical and altogether unenjoyable. Final Rating: No/10 I am so close. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
