Carpal tunnel can be a pain, tingling, or just numbness. It just depends.

This is correct. Symptoms can vary based on severity and progression of the disease, what areas of the wrist are affected, and root cause. There are eight short carpal bones in the wrist alone, and three sets of nerves, ulnar, median, and radial. The metacarpal bones connect the wrist to the fingers. Add to that, the ulna and radius (forearm bones), you have 15 bones and three major nerves, many of them moving parts, making it easy for this area to be stressed, especially by repetitive motion.

Treatment: Get a carpal tunnel brace, the brace will provide stability, and may promote healing. Take an anti-inflammatory (NSAID) such as ibuprofen, follow directions on label. Heat and/or ice may provide some comfort as well.
See a doctor if there is no improvement after two weeks of wearing the brace.
