1) there's absolutely no collusion between anyone else in the trump campaign and russia, or
2) nobody else let manafort know about anything they did relating to russia
neither of these seems particularly probable. ammontilda is correct in noting the primary motivation of pursuing manafort is ultimately going to be acquiring information on a more tasty subject, although secondary motivations likely exist.
it's more a question of 'will manafort and gates be able to provide enough on higher-priority persons of interest to the special counsel', not 'do they have anything at all', in my opinion.
Only time will tell at this point. I'm just seeing a lot of confidence reminiscent of 11/8/2016 and it'd be a shame if those same crow eaters had a second feast.
If there is collusion with Russia that Trump and his camp had any slight knowledge of, I say throw the book at them. But I find it funny that the only striking evidence of Russian collusion found thus far points towards Clinton. And instead of addressing that, all her supporters can do is say "but Clinton."
