The final product is still the 19th most expensive game ever produced. Kojima straight up mentioned Snake would talk less from the start. He picked Kiefer because he has a hard-on for American actors. I know Kojima fanboys like to think Konami is the sole reason for why MGSV exists the way it does. But no one at Konami likely told Kojima to have that stupid plot twist, nor the halfassed story or pointless open world, or many of the other things that make MGSV trash --- Joffery Baratheon did nothing wrong.
