Also because being obese means much higher risk of all kinds of diseases and chronic illnesses, which means more treatment for longer periods of time. In contrast, someone who lives to be 90 or 100 (or 110) will have several decades of chronic conditions. A lifetime of chronic conditions is more likely when you're obese.
