Years ago, I had a dream that I was a servant in a king's castle. I fell in love with one of the servant girls, and we'd sneak off at night to spend time together. The king noticed and said he'd marry us when we wanted. So we decided that week end was perfect, and the king set up a celebration and treated all the servants as guests of honor and had all the work done by the local villagers. It was fantastic and we got married under a willow tree next to a lake. She went off with some friends for a bit while the party was winding down. Then there was a scream, and e everyone went to investigate. My wife had been murdered by a jealous person who was angry that the servants had been treated so well while the noble people were mostly ignored.
I woke up crying that night. I don't think I've ever had a dream that felt as real as that one.
